Leader of the Decepticons

Megatron is the founder of the Decepticon uprising, and their most well-known and feared leader. As a young, charismatic leader forged in battle and the heritage of war, he began to believe in a grand purpose for his raceā€”it is the Transformers’ glorious destiny to rule an empire which will span the universe. The opposite of his mortal enemy Optimus Prime, he feels great contempt for other Transformers who, he feels, betray their proud heritage by demanding peace and cooperation with weaker life forms. It is the destiny of the Decepticons to bring order to the universe through conquest, though in the millions of years since coining this purpose it remains to be seen how much of his mission statement is altruistic… and how much of it is mere words built to fuel warriors to further his desire for personal power.

Megatron will attempt almost anything to achieve his goals, but his schemes are rarely in any way subtle. This is perhaps due to his arrogance, but his pride is not so strong as to dissuade him from abandoning a battle he is losing. Some would question his sanity, though these few are mostly now dead by his hands… or his fusion cannon, depending on his mood. Sometimes he uses his energon mace to strike them down. It does not matter how they die. Death by the hands of Megatron is an honor.

? BCE (Before the Great War)

Megatron Origin 1 – Long ago, Megatron was a miner on Mining Outpost C-12. When senator Decimus arrived onsite to declare that the miners were going to be moved off-station, a miner complained about the mine not being empty, but that they were all gonna be sacked so the mine could be automated. The rebellious miner was quickly put down by the Autobot guards that Decimus had with him. Megatron saw the miner being beat to spare parts, and something inside him stirred. He threw his miner’s pick into the shoulder of Decimus, and thus started a mass revolt. The Autobot guard tried to take Megatron down, but the latter killed him. Surprised by his own actions, Megatron and the rest of the miners were shot down. When he awake later in a shuttle moving them to Penal Facility H-3, two of his fellow miners, Rumble and Frenzy were mighty impressed with what he has done, and started another revolt. This resulted in the ship of Decimus being shot down, and the former miners, now escaped prisoners, took their ship to Kaon to go in hiding.

Some time after that, Megatron joined in illegal, gladitorial combat.

Megatron Origin 2 – Megatron, in one his fights, manages to beat Cy-Kill, but at first does not kill him, being reminded of his first, accidental kill, of the Autbot guard. The crowd screams for blood, and eventually Megatron cracks and kills his opponent. In the time that follows, Megatron becomes part of a team under Clench and becomes famous for his ruthless and callous behaviour. In a battle where Clench fails to keep to team together, Megatron pushes him forward, on the weapon of an opponent, and kills Clench, promoting himself to team captain, and subsequently winning the match. Cycles later, Megatron, together with Rumble and Frenzy, comes upon a place where the Constructicons are building a new area. The arena isn’t finished yet, and Megatron wonders if they’re early or the Constructicons are late. He is immediatly approached by Soundwave, who offers him new weapons to use in the arena. Megatron then discovers two Autobot spies; Bumper and Fastback, and Soundwave sends out Buzzsaw, Laserbeak and Ravage to take them down. After Megatron crushes Fastback’s head into a metal sheet to show Bumper he means serious business, the Autobot still refuses to talk, but Laserbeak and Soundwave drag the information out of Fastback’s head. Megatron learns that he is on the top of a most wanted list of arena fighters. He tells the Constructicons the area is compromised and that they should move out, and tears Fastback limb from limb.

Megatron requested that Soundwave find him some flight-capable combatants.

Megatron Origin 3 – After a fight in the arena, Megatron lost an arm. And while being repaired by Hook, Soundwave came in and introduced him to the requested flight-capable combatants. Starscream fell down on one knee, pledging his undying allegiance and that it would be an honor to fight in the arena besides him. Megatron replied that they wouldn’t, but that he’d have a much better job for them. Then he requested Hook to outfit the Seekers with the technology and weapons he gained through Soundwave.
After the Seekers kidnapped senator Decimus, Starscream approached Megatron right as he was ordering Rumble and Frenzy to stick to Soundwave as their new commander. Right after, Megatron, who gathered all the gladiators he could find, made his speech about the misery of life, and that only the gladitorial combat made them feel alive. That all they fight for is a badge and respect. “What” Megatron said “if the badge never came off?”. After his rousing speech, he threw senator Decimus at the crowd to be killed. As the first gladiator tried to attack him, he was shot by Sentinel Prime, and the Autobots appeared. The area was filled with smoke, and the Autbots started arresting anybody they could get Inhibitor Claws on. Megatron started to attack, but was put down by Prowl and a variety of other Autobots. After that, all the prisoners were led to the Kaon Autobot Security HQ.
Inside his cell, Megatron whispered something to Starscream, and after the latter started talking to a guard, Megatron proclaimed Starscream to be a traitor, and other gladiators tried to attack him. Starscream was quickly released and taken to the senate.

Megatron Origin 4 – Megatron patiently waits in his cell, as eventually, the guards claim the communications are out. Megatron stands up, and a hole is blown in the wall. In come Starscream, who’s immediatly ordered to free all prisoners.
While the freed prisoners are receiving weapons from Soundwave, Starscream approaches Megatron and proclaims that he always leads with his right which got him in trouble. Megatron angrily asks Starscream what the problem is, and receives his famous Fusion Cannon. After demonstrating his power by blowing another hole in the wall, Megatron orders his troops to attack Kaon.
Further into the battle, Megatron demands a front line until he sees some of his troops running, followed by an enormous explosion. He checks it out, and finds Sentinel Prime in his Apex armor. Challenging the Autobot leader, Megatron is shot. Assuming he’s dead, Sentinel Prime orders a fresh assault on his position, but Megatron creeps behind and slags Hound, throwing him down in front of Sentinel Prime. A melee occurs, wherein Megatron is eventually the victor. He orders Sentinel Prime’s body dropped in the Autobot lines, and the Autobots subsequently retreat from Kaon.
Sitting on a throne made out of the Apex armor, with the information Soundwave stole from Ratbat, Soundwave asks Megatron what he’s going to do now. Megatron exclaims he has a few ideas…

After +/- 8000 BCE (During the Great War)
